FAQS

What is the difference between Nature Playgroup and Bush Kindy?

Our Nature Playgroup is for children aged 6 months - 6 years. We begin each session with an Acknowledgment of Country, some songs and a story. The remainder of the session is unstructured, and child-led, with opportunities for children to explore, get messy and create simple arts and crafts. Our Bush Kindy is for children aged 3 - 6 years and while there is still plenty of time for unstructured free play and exploration, children will learn a range of bush skills including fire lighting, cooking on the campfire, using hand tools, building cubbies and other 'riskier' activities.

What should I  bring?

We recommend that children bring the following items to our Nature Playgroup and Bush Kindy sessions:

  • Morning Tea (No nuts please)

  • A water bottle

  • Enclosed shoes (We recommend aqua shoes, gumboots or canvas shoes they're happy to get wet and muddy)

  • Long lightweight pants to minimise the risk of bites and scratches

  • Insect repellent

  • Sunscreen

  • Wet gear - rain jacket, pants and gumboots

  • A spare change of clothes and a towel

What happens if it's raining?

Then we get to jump in muddy puddles! Our sessions go ahead 'rain or shine' and wet days are a crowd favourite among our little wildlings. If it's raining, please dress your child appropriately, with a rain jacket, weatherproof pants, warm socks and gumboots. Please pack a towel and a spare set of warm clothes for your child to get changed into after the session.
